It'll be rough at times. I'm not gonna lie. There is so much to explore about yourself in that post divorce time! And it's all about YOU and your pleasure/interests.
Hopefully, you have help; you may need time or space to figure out what you like so if you have a very reliable babysitter who is like family, even better

Hatred? No. My mom has always been loving and attentive in her own way.
Hatred is a pretty strong emotion, and yet I'm sure some people would legitimately feel this toward a family member and be justified for feeling this way.

But seriously, this is a tough one. You have to decide what your boundaries are in terms of the self-centeredness and lack of assistance with kids stuff and communicate them soon. And maybe even get some help with a marriage and family therapist.

Can you articulate what you mean by wrong crowd?? If you can define it then you can begin to talk to your child. What does it mean to hang with the wrong crowd? What are the ramifications or consequences?
You may be making assumptions based on your past experiences. Be ready to own that. And be mindful that sometimes those kids you think are the good kids? might not be so good (I'm not naming names here).
You could invite them all or one by one to come over and hang out with the family. You'll get a sense of how they behave and if they really are the wrong crowd.?

How would I feel? I'd be curious for sure about why they'd want to choose such a name for our baby. Old me might initially be hurt but clearly that choice is not about me but could be about that relationship.
Choosing a name after an ex might be odd - would it forever remind them of the ex? Settling on a name is something we would do together. I'd consider it a first offer and a negotiation point and would listen carefully to their ?why?.
